Current Workshops & Courses

Discover STEAM provides engaging curricula to students 3 to 19 years old, with hands-on learning experiences in STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math) fields. We pride ourselves on being able to present complex concepts in easy to understand ways and in providing hands-on, deep-learning experiences for kids.

Discover STEAM offers classes open to the public at several locations:

​

(1)  Discover STEAM sponsors The Kid's STEMology Club,  please contact us if you are interested in joining.  Our former meeting place, The Maker Space at Rockville Memorial Library in MD,  has closed. We now meet at various locations in Montgomery County for classes and workshops for pre K - 12th grade students.

​

(2) The 2024-2025 school year we are holding after school programs at both Farmland Elementary School and Luxmanor Elementary School. For more information and to register click here.

(3)  Montgomery County Public Library (MCPL) has partnered with Discover STEAM to offer Forensics camps for teens this summer, 2024!  MCPL is offering these camps 'free to the public' on the weeks of July 8th, 15th, 29th and August 5th (M-F, 2:00 - 3:30 PM). (4) Discover STEAM has a community partnership with Croydon Creek Nature Center. We designed and delivered two 1 week-long STEM summer camps at their location. On June 24th - 28th Engineering camp for 8- 10 yr olds and July 15th - 19th Scientist in Nature camp for 10 - 13 yr olds. 

​

(5) Registration is now open for in-person Homeschool classes for the school year 2024-2025, through the 'Kid's STEMology Club'. These Tuesday classes will serve 3rd - 12th grade students. We are offering Math, Technology, and Science classes on Tuesdays throughout the 2024 - 2025 school year.

 

(6) For High School students, back by popular demand - we are offering AP Biology, taught by Dr. Michele Forsythe, virtually on Mon. & Wed. at 1:45 - 3 PM. Learn more here.

(7) In Herndon, Virginia we offer classes for grades K-8 at Compass Homeschool Enrichment. New this year, Lina Rodriguez will also be teaching Science in Spanish.
